Counting Corona Deaths as Covid19 Even When Results are “Inconclusive or not available”

When they report the numbers of those killed they are including presumed, inconclusive, untested cases and cases where there were underlying health issues that contributed. Just to try to balance fear with facts, when the news and governments report the numbers of those killed by COV19, they are including presumed, inconclusive, and untested cases.
Not Today Coronavirus
The WHO and CDC have added new “ICD” codes for classifying a death as COVID-19.

The WHO’s new code is for:
“clinical or epidemiological diagnosis of COVID-19 where a laboratory confirmation is inconclusive or not available.”
The CDC decided not to use the WHO’s new code, but their guidelines say:

“If the death certificate reports terms such as “probable COVID-19” or “likely COVID-19,” these terms would be assigned the new ICD code.”
“COVID-19 should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death.”
“If the decedent had other chronic conditions such as COPD or asthma that may have also contributed, these conditions can be reported in Part II.”

They are also including the deaths of people who had underlying health problems as being from COV19. Like was the case in Italy.

“The age of our patients in hospitals is substantially older – the median is 67, while in China it was 46,” Prof Ricciardi says. “So essentially the age distribution of our patients is squeezed to an older age and this is substantial in increasing the lethality.

A study in JAMA this week found that almost 40 per cent of infections and 87 per cent of deaths in the country have been in patients over 70 years old.

“On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity – many had two or three,”

Dr. Birx: “If Someone Dies With COVID-19 We Are Counting That As A COVID-19 Death”

Posted By Tim Hains On Date April 8, 2020

At Tuesday’s White House coronavirus press conference, task force member Dr. Deborah Birx said that while some countries are reporting coronavirus fatality numbers differently, in the U.S. you are counted as a victim of the pandemic if you die while testing positive for the virus, even if something else causes your death.
